How to clean a pocket pussy: keep your sex toy like new with these products and tipspocket pussy cleaning girl

Cleaning sex toys: it’s no one’s favourite part of masturbating, but it has to happen. At Motsutoys we have tested a number of cleaning products and picked out the best for you. This way you don’t have to spend any longer than necessary scrubbing out your onahole.

Why you need to clean your pocket pussy

There are several reasons you’ll want to clean your pocket pussies:

  • Not cleaning them is gross Let’s start with the obvious: if you don’t clean your sex toy properly it’s not going to be pleasant to use next time.
  • Don’t risk your health! What’s left behind after masturbating is the perfect breeding ground for bacteria and mold: slightly humid and warm, with plenty of nutrients. Since micro-organisms are so small they only need very little to stay alive, and if you settle for a quick rinse it might not be enough to get rid of them.
An overgrowth of bacteria in your pocket pussy can cause painful and potentially serious issues like a UTI. Often bacteria will produce a bad smell, so if your pocket pussy smells funky you know your last cleaning job wasn't thorough enough.
  • Prolong the lifespan of your sex toy Cleaning your pocket pussy quickly and properly after each use will prolong its lifespan. Not only will you not have to throw it out due to bacterial growth, it’s also better for the material itself.

Four steps to clean a pocket pussy properly

Thanks to our many years of experience and our contacts with several brands we have gathered a lot of information about how to clean a pocket pussy. There are several steps to cleaning sex toys, and while there isn’t one perfect way to do it, we'll do our best to give you an overview of the most essential steps and why you need to do them. These steps are applicable to pocket pussies, fleshlights, mini sex dolls and everything else that’s made out of soft material.

1. Rinsing

The first thing to do after using your sex toy is rinsing it out with plenty of water. It’s best to use cold or lukewarm water, as hot water might damage the material and make your bodily fluids harder to remove. You can do this under the tap or in the shower, but you can also grab an onahole shower - this is especially great for big onahips or mini sex doll

If you have a masturbation cup you should take the interior out of the cup and clean them separately - be sure they're dry before putting them back together. .

If you have a sex toy with a hole in the back (also known as a “through hole”) you can rinse it out very easily by flushing water through from both directions. If your pocket pussy doesn’t have this you can spread out the opening with your fingers, roll the toy in your hand and/or grab a special cleaning sponge to make sure you get everything out. You can also use a douche to squirt water into the back of the tunnel.

2. Washing

After removing the majority of the lube and fluids with water you can use some toy wash to get it really clean. Instructions will be on the packaging, but generally you use it like you would use regular soap. Toy wash can be a spray, a gel, or even a foam dispenser!

3. Drying

Getting rid of as much water as possible is a step that shouldn’t be skipped, as a humid pocket pussy is much easier for bacteria to flourish in. After rinsing and washing your pocket pussies squeeze or shake it to let the water drip out. After that, use drying sticks to absorb the last drops. You can also use some absorbent fabric, but make sure it is clean, will not leave lint and won’t damage the material.

4. Powdering & Storage

While not technically a part of cleaning, these two things will help keep your pocket pussy safe and clean until your next use. Check out the maintenance powder and sex toy storage categories for more information.

How often should you clean your pocket pussy?

A lot of people ask this and there's only one good answer: you need to clean your pocket pussy after every time you use it. If you plan to use it again in 30 minutes you might get away with only doing a quick rinse instead of a full clean, but any longer than that and you risk bacteria multiplying. Not great for your toy and not great for you!

How not to clean your pocket pussy

Since sex toys for men are -unfortunately- still a bit of a taboo subject, it can be hard to find reliable information online and some websites list methods which may damage your sex toys in the long run. Here are some things to avoid:

Do not turn your pocket pussy inside out to clean or dry. While it is a great way to make sure you can reach every last corner, turning a pocket pussy inside out puts a lot of stress on the opening and often causes tearing. While you can try to use this method with very thin or stretchy pocket pussies be aware that it may shorten their lifespan.

Using harsh soaps or detergents may seem like a great way to get your pocket pussy squeaky clean, but they can do more harm than good. Mineral oil is one of the main components of most pocket pussies and using the wrong soap can remove this from the material, leaving it more porous. The porous material becomes harder to clean and gets damaged more easily.

Using heat to dry your pocket pussy can speed up the process, but too much heat might permanently damage it. As a rule, don’t heat your pocket pussy above body temperature and avoid exposing it to anything about room temperature for longer amounts of time.
